From image to stitches
Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP image. Choose a crop shape, then drag to position your image, zoom, or rotate. Set the dimensions in stitches and your fabric count. Pick the floss colors to include and set a maximum color count. The preview uses median-cut color reduction and CIELAB matching to the included DMC reference palette.
Your editing tools
Select a floss on the right and draw with the pencil or brush. Use Fill for connected areas, Eyedropper to sample a stitch, or Rectangle and Line for shapes. Pick a stitch type above the canvas. Backstitch connects grid corners; drag for each segment. Use the backstitch manager to change endpoints or delete lines.
Drag a selection, then copy, cut, paste, move with arrow keys, or delete it. Magic wand selects every stitch using the clicked color. Pasted stitches appear at the last canvas cursor position. Erasing or replacing stitches keeps the operation in your undo history.

Print and stitch
Export PDF charts on A4 or US Letter. Choose color, symbol, or combined charts, customize stitches per page, and include a cover, preview, legend, page overlap, center arrows, and grid numbers. Preview the generated PDF before downloading. PNG export supports color, symbol, and stitched views with white or transparent backgrounds.
Floss estimates
Estimates account for diagonal stitch length, travel on the back, selected strands, and a 15% margin. Skeins assume 8 meters of six-strand floss. Backstitch and fractional stitch usage vary, so the calculator is a planning estimate rather than an exact shopping guarantee. Compare digital colors with a physical thread card.
Keep a copy of your work
Use Export project to download a .crosspic file. This preserves your editable stitches, palette, backstitch, and source image. Browser storage can be cleared or evicted; a project backup is the best way to keep your work.
